Checking a contractor
Colorado doesn't issue a statewide general contractor license, but Fort Collins requires a city contractor license for work in the city, and Larimer County requires a county license in unincorporated areas. Loveland, Windsor, Timnath and Wellington have their own requirements. Ask for the license that covers your address, proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance, who will pull the permit, and a written quote that names the footing depth, materials and warranty.
